Jessica and Juda met the modern way — online, on Bumble — where one swipe turned into something so much more!
First date? Let’s just say it was memorable! Jessica was not quite sure about Juda’s shirt, but luckily, he has a pretty face! He showed up to a bar that he was clearly uncomfortable in, took one look at her and said, “Oh… you’re little.” They both laughed, bonded over fajitas (Papacito’s forever), and slowly realized something authentic was unfolding. Three years later (yes, he took forever to propose), here they are — building a life rooted in love, laughter, and faith.
Jessica knew Juda was the one when she found comfort in the most unexpected place — (sniffing) his neck (don’t ask, it’s a thing!). As a single mom and business owner, finding someone who made life easier, led with faith, and showed up with steady love felt like a miracle.
Jessica says that Juda is the best man she’s ever known — her Rambo, John Wick, Superman, and MacGyver all in one. He did all of the handyman work while she opened two salons, even put up her signs (and he’s scared of heights!). She loves him so much, she just sits there smiling while he mansplains literally anything.
She still can’t believe she gets to marry the strongest, kindest, and most ridiculously good-looking man she’s ever met.
For Juda, it was the karaoke! Jessica brought him out of his shell, shared his love for God, and reminded him what joy looks like. Juda says that Jessica is his biggest supporter, his hype (wo)man, and the answer to the prayer he did not stop believing would be answered. Oh yeah—and we can't forget to mention how she supports his car obsessions. She's always been his biggest cheerleader, even when it comes to his other great love: the “Daddy Tahoe” (and all the time and money that goes into it). Yep, She’s stood by him through every upgrade, late-night wrench session & has even made trips to O'Reilly's for him.
Along the way, we’ve made the best memories:
– Catching the bouquet three times (yes, THREE!) — at family weddings and his parent's 50th vow renewal! Juda's mom made sure Jessica caught her bouquet in hopes Juda would propose soon!
– Juda became a grill master & makes THE BEST burgers! (Zoey & Abby will attest)
– Zoey & Abby nicknaming him "the cupcake man".
– Having our engagement featured in our neighborhood newsletter like it was breaking news (of course it was)!
The proposal? A total surprise! Juda told Jessica they were doing a photo shoot with his Corvette — just a photo keepsake of a car he loved. After taking a few shots, the photographer asked to grab a couple photos of the two of us together. Jessica hesitated (never wants to take pictures), but agreed. While the photographer distracted her, Juda stepped away to “put away his jacket,” came back on one knee, and asked Jessica to marry him. The proposal was private, thoughtful, and perfect in every way!
They are different in all the right ways — Juda is a bit reserved, and Jessica is the limelight of the party. However together, they have found something steady, joyful, and full of grace. Most importantly they have found the purest friendship, which is the foundation of an everlasting marriage.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you and thank God for the love He’s written into our story.
